Adam L. McKnight

Singer/Songwriter/Arranger/Producer

 

With a captivating personality, unyielding stage presence and an incredible voice, Adam L. McKnight, opens his heart and soul in song!!  Adam’s vocal prowess was on full display on the day he stunned 50,000 attendees at the Georgia World Conference Center with an a cappella version of “Amazing Grace”.  With the ability to perform all styles of music, from R&B to Gospel, Pop and even Opera, Adam amazes and astounds audiences with his natural ability to sing. Performing on-stage in bands since age 13, Adam has settled in comfortably as not just a singer, but also an entertainer, putting his heart and soul into every song he sings and enjoying the experience.

 

As a testament to Adam’s musical ability & vocal talents, in October 2003 & January 2004, he had the extreme pleasure of arranging background vocals & recording with the legendary SirElton John, on new music for the Broadway musical “Lestat” and for his critically acclaimed CD “Peachtree Road” released Fall, 2004.  In addition, Adam along with members of his choir, Voice of Atlanta, completed a yearlong tour with Sir Elton nationally and internationally, including performances at Madison Square Garden for Katrina victims’ relief and Live 8 in London. 

 

He has also lent his vocal talents to such national recording artists as Diane Durrett, Randall Bramblett, Scooter Lee & Cee-Lo.  He has recorded with Grammy award winners Train and producers Ed Roland & Phil Tan.

Adam has been featured soloist on many nationally televised events in all genres of music including performances with “The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra”, 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and the Democratic National Convention. He has performed on stage with such noted celebrities as Stevie Wonder, B.B.King, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan, Lou Gossett Jr., Robert Wagner, Faith Hill, Aaron Neville, Kelly Price, the Pointer Sisters and the Temptations.  He has recorded commercial spots for the Georgia Lottery, TNT Sports, ESPN Radio, Black & Decker, Cellular One and has arranged and sung on a special song for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  And as “The Voice”of Starlight International LLC, Adam has entertained and motivated countless corporate audiences throughout the US, Asia and Europe.

 

Adam’s theater experience includes leading roles in Black Nativity, Eubie, Bubblin’ Brown Sugar and more recently LEAP & Jesus Christ Superstar Gospel with the Regional Theatre Tony Award winning Alliance Theater at the Woodruff Arts Center.

 

Currently, Adam is devoting his efforts to writing and producing new music for Ballethnic Dance Company, as well as serving on the Board, in support of their Arts and Education initiatives. He is also in the process of completing his 3rd recording project to be titled “Survivor”.  As a past Board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy, Adam enjoys the respect of the music arts community.

The Energetic Vocal Choir

Adam L. McKnight and Voice of Atlanta scored a major triumph recently, performing in the Super Bowl Halftime Show, backing Adam Levine and Maroon 5.  Maroon 5 loved their performance, giving them a shout out during the show!  It was nationally agreed that their performance was one of the highlights of the Halftime Show.

 

The Super Bowl Halftime Show was not Voice of Atlanta’s only recent Television experience.  Their song “A Leak in the Building” was selected by Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network hit show Greenleafto be played over the credits of the 3rdSeason Premiere Episode, and provided for a powerful close.  In addition, it was the lead track on the Greenleaf Season 3 CD released on iTunes.

 

Atlanta’s premier Gospel/Inspirational Choir having performed Nationally & Internationally, Voice of Atlanta (VOA) is comprised of seasoned professional vocalists from the Metropolitan Atlanta area.  Under Adam's direction, VOA has been a “Voice” of inspiration, producing and performing numerous recordings and performances that have toured around the world for multiple prominent artist and corporations.

When Sir Elton John was writing the original score for “The Vampire Lestat” and wanted a few gospel singers to present the music, Adam McKnight was recommended as the person to call.  Quickly dazzling him by recording 7 songs in 5 hours, Sir Elton was sold! From that initial encounter, Adam and the entire Voice of Atlanta choir were asked to perform on the Peachtree Road Album, and once again due to their quick study, work ethic and natural vibe have since toured around the world with Sir Elton John.

 

VOA has also performed and or recorded with such distinguished artists as Secret Garden, The Score, CeCe Winans, Patti LaBelle, Jermaine Dupri, Cee-Lo, John Barry and the British Pop group Razorlight.  VOA has recorded for and/or been featured in major events for Microsoft, Disney, AT&T, Terminex, National Boys & Girls Club, Rotary International, True-Value Hardware, UNICEF, MADD, The National Black Arts Festival, The Morehouse School of Medicine, Waverly Hotels, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and a host of other corporate and community based organizations.
